We asked our donors to write words of affirmation, encouragement or personal stories for the next donor to receive. The goal was to create a ripple effect of notes that help make each donation more meaningful.
We’ve compiled these messages so you can read the supportive words our breastfeeding mothers want to share.
Our hope is that every mom and future donor knows there’s a community fueled by generosity and kindness that shares your values and is committed to helping fragile babies get the best start in life. Thank you all!
Hey Mamas, When I was in the hospital with my first I relied on your donations to feed my little boy. Once I got him home my milk came in with a vengence (lol) and I donated over 1500oz. Now with my second I love that I get to keep donating for the other sweet babies who, like me, needed it. Prayers for all you mamas who are pumping - I remember how hard it was! You are doing such a good thing. #motherhoodrocks You got this!! Our Lady of La Leche, pray for us!

Hello all! My 3rd baby was born December 1st 2025. This is the first time I have produced so much milk and my very first breastmilk donation. I dont remember pumping so much with my first 2 babies. I feel so proud of how much I have produced. My freezer is almost full and my baby is 11 weeks old. Sadly he cannot have my breastmilk due to his allergy. We decided to stick to his hypoallergenic formula because it was so hard seeing him so miserable due to CMPA. Those were some rough days! Baby was always crying! Being my 3rd time around I knew something wasn't right! Then there was the blood in his stool. Deep down I have a very sad feeling to empty my freezer and send it away. But I know it's for a good cause. Im happy to know we can help other babies. Especially those in NICU. My baby is a NICU warrior! Those babies will forever hold a special place in my heart because they're so tiny yet so mighty, strong and fight their hardest to be happy thriving little humans just like my little man! Good luck on your journeys and blessings to all!

Hello from Long Beach, CA! So honored and grateful to be apart of this special group. I am so lucky that I was able to pump and feed my daughter for a little over 14 months, while being able to donate milk to sweet babies in need. Pumping is no easy job, so I commend all fellow mamas for their love and dedication. Sending love to all! xo,
Shadae

Never thought I would have the opportunity to donate breastmilk & help make a difference. Very happy to be doing this for a great cause helping babies in need. ♡

Hi there! I hope you are doing well and finding a moment to yourself to read this. When my baby was born, we needed donor milk & thats when we heard about Mother’s Milk Bank of California. It’s been such an honor to be able to help other babies through milk donation. While I’ll never be able to thank those who donated to me & my baby, I hope they know they’ve made an impact in the lives of so many babies, just like you are. Whether your 1st, 5th or last donation, know you are amazing to help so many families & babies & they are so grateful for your time, effort & dedication. ♡
Jessie & Owen
I just want to say, you are incredible to be doing this. Your body has been through a lot, so please be kind and take care of yourself. Pumping takes time and energy, and choosing to share with others is such a selfless act that I hope someday comes back to you. You are making a difference in the life of other families in ways you may never fully see. I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you. Keep going, you are doing amazing. Love,
Angel ♡
Had my 1st biological baby in Nov 2025 after raising my 2 teenage stepchildren for the last 10 years. The time goes so incredibly fast, cannot believe I’ve already exclusively pumped for my baby of 4 months. Baby ate @ the hospital by BF’ing but once we got home, we struggled to retain our latch. Gma said “Get your pump out” and Baby has been fed breastmilk from the bottle ever since. On the nights I wished I could just feed her on my chest, I reminded myself that she was still receiving my breastmilk even if I had to pump it 1st. Every 3 hour... 15 min long. But opening the door to donating has made it feel even more worth it that other babies are eating healthy thru my efforts as well. Now, back to work post partum, I get my pump breaks to relax and thank God for creating this path for me. For those mothers who struggled to find their latch or whose pumping journey has felt rigorous, you are not alone and fed is best, your baby still craves the snuggles, you are mom ♡ — Donating today 200 ounces.

My baby received donor milk while he was in the NICU — a time filled with uncertainty + fear. In those moments, I was grateful to know he was receiving something safe + nourishing. The milk came from someone I don't know + may never meet. Yet I know in my heart that person is selfless, loving, + truly beautiful. Today, my baby is home with me, laughing, smiling, + growing stronger everyday. I am grateful to be here in this moment + provide nourishment + love to another baby in this world, just as someone once did for mine. What you’re giving is more than milk! It is love, hope, + support for parents + babies. They appreciate you. I appreciate you. I am grateful to be here. P.S. Go get yourself some ice cream. You deserve a sweet treat!

You got this mama! Making milk and pumping aren't easy - but the gift can be life changing for babies in need! You are so strong! ♡

You are amazing, thank you so much for donating to babies in need. Although breastfeeding and/or pumping is difficult, It is so awesome that you are able to push through it to help a tiny life. Thank you!

Hi Mama's, I just want to say you are doing great! ♡ Breastfeeding is nothing small or easy, it's a challenge us mamas face. I just want to say how much I admire you for your dedication and strength. You are giving other babies a very special gift. In those hard times remember to be kind to yourself. Your body is doing something amazing and your efforts are appreciated. I'm so proud of you. You've got this! ♡

Hello to you who are getting this after me. Thank you for choosing to donate and doing all the work for it. Other people might not really get it, but I do, and I appreciate you ♡ Donating milk is extra meaningful to me because our second kid was born super early last summer, at just 29 weeks. He spent 2 months in the NICU and it was a super intense time, with a lot of worry and uncertainty. I felt very lucky that my milk came in fast & plentiful, but I couldn't help imagining the extra stress & worry I'd have felt if I didn't have breastmilk for our preemie or if I didn't have enough. Especially because I learned that breastmilk is super important for preemies - especially the tiny ones - because it protects them from a scary infection called necrotizing enterocolitis. I'm so excited that all the work and thought that I put into pumping might help some other preemies now survive and grow and thrive.
From what I’ve seen, everyone’s experience of motherhood or parenting is super different – but also the same in that it’s a lot! A lot of work, feelings, change… for me it’s been more joy than stress and I wish the same for you. Wherever you are in your journey with breast/chestfeeding and babies and parenting, I wish you lots of satisfaction and love and happiness. Thank you for donating milk and for everything else you do ♡ ♡ ♡

This is my second breastfeeding journey, but my first time donating. My first time, my son was in the NICU + I struggled to produce enough milk for him. I became an exclusive pumper and only just barely made enough for him. Although this was just in 2022, donor-milk was never mentioned or offered. This time around, I was fortunate enough that my daughter was born healthy but she wouldn't suck when she latched. Weight became a concern + I was offered donor milk since my milk had not come in yet. Now, I am an over-producer and have decided to give back. I remember how much I struggled the first time, + how scary it was to have a child in the NICU, so to be able to potentially help out another NICU baby, makes me extremely happy. I am grateful to have more than enough this time around, but I will never forget the hardships the first time around. Breastfeeding is such a complex experience. It can be beautiful, but also frustrating + hard. As a mom, you want the best for your child, and you want to be able to give that to them, but sometimes it doesn't work out the way you want it too. But what matters most is that you love your child + you're doing whatever you can for them whether it be nursing, pumping, donated milk, or even formula. There is never any shame in doing what's best for you + your baby. I wish you the best in wherever your journey takes you. Sincerely,
Melissa J.
You are amazing! Your hard work is saving the lives of tiny humans everyday!

You are an amazing mom, its not easy. Keep up the good work you are stronger than you think!

Hi Mamas ! Keep pressing forward, our little ones are the best gifts we could ever hope for. I am blessed to be able to share something to help out other little kiddos. Breastfeeding and pumping is not always easy, but we do it because we love our little ones. Stay strong ♡

Dear fellow Milk Warrior, This is truly a special time. It is exhausting, and a lot of work, and it is so worth it to give our babies that liquid gold! What a gift it is to be able to share that liquid gold with other tiny babies in need. The feeding and pumping are arduous, on top of all of the other facets of being a mom. You are so strong and capable of more than you may know. Keep going! Care for yourself, and soak up as much baby time as you can. I pray that you find peace, comfort, and love in your gift to give extra milk to our tiniest warriors. If you are going through loss, my heart and prayers are with you. You are amazing! I am so grateful to be part of something so good in our world. This tribe of mothers is strong! Even though we may never meet, we are connected.

This is my second time breastfeeding with my first daughter I will only make enough for her feeds 4oz max per pump I only did a year. I was pumping and latching due to collage, my 8 month old stopped taking bottles so I have a lot of milk to donate or it would've went to waste. This is my first time ever and I'm so happy to start my donate experience. Don't be scared to ask for help I know I was my first time around. Every one is a warrior rather you pump or latch you get this mamma Sincerely,
Rachele T.

To all of the incredible mamas who are breastfeeding/pumping - you rock! What an incredible journey this has been for me - 13.5 months and going strong! To all of the mamas who have donated your extra breastmilk - I see you. This milk carries more than nutrients, it is full of love, solidarity, and hope. I feel very proud to stand among women who turned motherhood into something even bigger than themselves. Keep going mamas - you inspire me! Love

This milk comes from a surrogacy journey that helped create one family but donating allows that love to extend even further. It's my way of supporting many families and babies beyond the one I carried for.
Breastfeeding and pumping has hands down been the hardest yet best challenge I have come across !!! Everything you are doing is amazing and you should be so proud. Congrats on your journey, you're doing great!
Remy ♡
Your donation means so much to these tiny babies. Though breastfeeding and pumping can be a difficult journey, wherever you are with it - with your own little one - know that you are giving life + nourishment to a baby who really needs it. Thank you.

Dear Fellow Milk Warrior! This time is difficult; lack of sleep, hormonal changes, night sweats, etc. But it’s also the best time too! First smiles, first giggles, the love when your baby sees your face! This is my second go at this, and it does get easier! I pray and ask God for grace & patience each time ☺ Please bless this milk, God, and ensure it helps save lives or give life as needed. Amen. We’re all in this together!
Hello Mamas! This is truly an amazing experience. It may seem hard now, but everything goes by really fast. Cherish every moment even the tough ones. Just know that your kids are lucky to have you!
Giving breast milk is one of the greatest acts of love that we mothers do for our childrens ♡ That's why to you mom who receives this small donation, I want to tell you that you are doing excellently and you are not alone, that through this and all the donations the love and hope for the little ones is multiplied. With love, a donor mom 💕
I just want you to know you are doing an amazing thing! Pumping is so much work and a continued act of love for your child and others. My baby has developed NEC several times prior to her open heart surgery. Your gift helps babies like her and saves lives! Not many people can say that. You are doing great and all those receiving donor milk (at one time my baby!) are forever grateful.♡
Hi Mama Warriors! To even be in the same group of amazing women is such a gift, yet knowing we are also helping other mommas care for their little warriors is an honor. The days have been long (schedules, pumping, packing, planning, cleaning.... the cleaning!), but I feel my journey of donation coming to end. If it's ever too much, just know and feel, you got this momma ♡ You've got strength, endurance, and just the right amount of stuff. You are backed and you are loved! This beautiful gift we get to give is cherished; and so are you.
♡ Kyla
To all the breastfeeding mamas: You are doing AMAZING!! Your hard work & dedication to your baby & other babies in need is not unnoticed. Keep up the good work!! You should feel very proud of yourself ♡ ♡ ♡
It's ok to not love every moment, it's ok to ask for help. Not everyone has a village, paid help is still valued. You are doing great mama. Pumping is hard but every baby deserve the best you are the best ♡

With my 1st baby, I could not figure out how to pump. I had to supplement for the first 6 months. I finally figured it out. Now with my 2nd baby, I know what I am doing and so does my body. Both my boys were full term but I have many family members that were premies. I am donating in gratitude to those mothers that helped them. Keep up the great work! You are making a difference!

I am a first time surrogate and gave birth to my surrobabe in January 2026. Though her parents initially wanted milk, they changed their mind due to the logistics of getting milk to where they live. There have been so many times I have wanted to quit pumping - especially during the middle of the night sessions - but I am so grateful for what my body can do every time I deposit a bag of milk in the freezer that I know will go to a baby that needs it. This experience has been better most days than not and I am thankful to have the ability to close out my surrogacy journey in such a way. However your breastfeeding journey looks, I hope you find comfort in this tribe of mamas that are struggling and celebrating along side you. #justkeeppumping ♡
What a crazy journey we are all on... right?? what a blessing (and sometimes a curse) but mostly a blessing to be able to provide milk for not only our own babies, but for others! We should be so proud of our bodies & the sacrifice we are making! no one understands truly what this is like, except for all of you! I repeat to myself everyday — I am enough & so are you! we are so loved & so valued! happy pumping ♡

Hey mama! You are incredible and what you're doing, whether it feels like it or not, is incredible, amazing, wonderful and incredibly kind! (I'm trying to see how many times I can use the word incredible before it gets weird ☺). But for real. The impact you're having on sweet, beautiful babies is felt. You're doing such an amazing, generous, kind thing and it is all worth it.♡

Hi there! I'm Daniela from the Central Valley in California. This is my 3rd 600+ ounce donation that I am happy to share with babies out here. My baby girl is about to be 1 in the next month and half and I cant believe I have been blessed to be able to feed her and donate these last couple months! Now that I am close to reaching the end of this journey I ask that you embrace all the ups and downs of breastfeeding. Breastmilk is a blessing! You are incredible for donating or accepting these donations. With love! ♡

I was a "just enough-er" with my first baby. Being an older mom, I wasn't sure how my breastfeeding journey would go with my second, but I am overjoyed to have been blessed with a strong milk supply this time around. I am thrilled to be able to have enough milk to feed my baby & give to other babies in need! Age is just a number! ♡

This work matters! You are making a difference ♡ This selfless act is a gift of love!!! I hope you are proud of yourself!
Our breastfeeding journey has been through several ups and downs and I'm sure many moms are probably facing similar hurdles. I just want to remind every mom that they will always cherish the memories down the lane. These hickups are temporary and will pass by before you realise. I felt the same with my first baby and am sure will do the same with my second as well.
Our baby unexpectedly arrived 4 weeks early. It took a while for my milk to come in so we got donated breastmilk while in hospital for our baby. Our breastfeeding journey was challenging as our tiny premature baby wasn't able to latch well for a start. I exclusively pumped for 6 weeks before slowly transitioning to breastfeeding. It was a lot of work but the silver living was that it induced an oversupply. When we started running low on freezer storage space, we decided to sign up as a milk donor to pay it forward. I hope to keep donating milk for as long as possible. Thank you for doing so as well to help other babies!
Laykuan L.
Hello mama ♡ all i can say is that you are doing great. The stress, the sleepless nights, the fatigue, it all temporary and worth it. You are a strong mama and the babies that get this milk are forever grateful! ♡

Fellow Super Women, I just wanted to say, you are doing an incredible job! Many of us are not only nourishing our own little ones, but also helping out other momma's and babies in need. What a beautiful community to be a part of! Thank you for all your hard work and generosity and for setting a great example of loving our neighbors. I genuinely believe its a blessing to be a blessing. Cheering y'all on! Love,

Hi mama, Whenever you feel discouraged, Just remember, you are the center of the universe to a tiny human you made from scratch. You are doing a wonderful job and you are doing better than you think you are. You are a mother, a superhero, Period. ♡ — love, first time mama with a 6 month old baby boy xoxoxo ♡
What an amazing gift you are giving! My baby received donor milk in the hospital, and it provided so much comfort and peace of mind for those first few days while everything felt out of control. I feel very lucky to be able to pay it forward so more babies can benefit like mine did. Pumping is mentally, physically, & emotionally draining + you are a ROCKSTAR for letting other babies benefit from your efforts!!! ♡
Thank you for the effort + time + love! You are wonderful + amazing for sharing the gift of milk! You got this mama!
We made it to 13 months! Couldn't have done it without the support from other mother's going through similar journeys. My baby had cmpa this time around (2nd baby) & truly grateful we've been able to work through it. It's amazing to donate so nothing is wasted. You got this too!
Dear Mama, When I lost one baby + was left with tons of milk and trying to handle the grief, finding Mothers' Milk Bank was a blessing. Knowing the love I had left could help others made it give me hope + some joy to make a difference. Now that I am feeding another who was provided such milk in an 8 week NICU stay, I wanted to continue to give back. The sleepless nights, the frustrated mid-night + in-between-work pumps are so draining, but we do it for the love of another. We can make a huge difference so other mamas don't have to worry and those precious babes can have the best chance in those early days. Good job + keep it going! Sending lots of love, ♡
Nicole
Progress over perfection ♡ You got this mama!
To the mama who keeps showing up when it feels impossibly hard. Your strength is quiet, steady and extraordinary. In the middle of giving so much of yourself to your own little one, you are still choosing to give more, nourishing babies you may never meet, comforting families you may never know. Your love is reaching farther than you can imagine. Every ounce you share carries care, hope, and life. Keep going, one moment at a time. You are appreciated.♡
Andrea
Can I start by saying I am so proud of you. Not only are we providing for our babies, but giving so other babies can be fed too. Our milk is so much more than just nutrition — it is comfort, immunity, sacrifice, and love. Each ounce is time, energy and sleep! Thank you for all you do. With love,
Katelyn ♡
My breastfeeding journey is not exactly how I imagined. My baby had difficulty removing milk and gaining weight due to a tongue, lip, and cheek tie. Even after getting them released, doing body work, and working with several lactation specialists she refused to go back to the breast. Even so most importantly she is happy and thriving being bottle fed. I'm glad I am able to still breastfeed her via bottle and help NICU babies with my oversupply. It's the silver lining in all of this. Keep going and do what is best for you and your baby. ♡
Marcy & Lucia
Pumping is a lot of work and sometimes you just feel like giving up. But know that you are doing a great job at nourishing your baby. I too had a preemie and was appreciative of donor milk and that option. Keep going!

Starting out this breastfeeding journey was scary, the thought of not being able to produce enough milk. But God has poured His blessings out in so many ways including overflow of milk, so much so that I get to bless other babies with it. Thank you Jesus! May God bless every single baby & mother in this process. Proverbs 3:9-10

Mama- You’re doing amazing! I know how much time goes into pumping milk. I was fortunate to have plenty of milk for my baby but I have friends who had difficulties producing. Every ounce that you donate is appreciated by the receiver! Lets continue donating together! ♡
Dear mama,
If you're reading this, I want you to know how strong you are. Breastfeeding can be such a beautiful experience but it can also be exhausting, emotional and lonely in ways no one really prepares you for. If you've had moments of doubt, tears or frustration, know that you're not failing, you're learning and so is your baby.
Some days will feel easier than others. On the hard days try to remember that your love is bigger than any struggle and your worth is not measured in ounces, schedules or milestones. Every time you show up you are giving your baby comfort, safety and connection and that matters more than anything. Be gentle with yourself. Rest when you can. Ask for help when you need it. And know that there is a whole community of mamas cheering you on even if you can't see us. You are not alone on this journey. You're doing an incredible job. One feed, one moment, one day at a time. With love and encouragement,
A fellow mama, S Gomez ♡
To all the beautiful mamas,
Breastfeeding is often painted as easy and instinctive — but the truth is, it takes grit. From painful latches and sore breasts to sleepless nights and endless doubt, this journey tests you in ways no one prepares you for. The first 3 months were a battle. Late-night power pumping, pushing through exhaustion, fighting for supply and somehow coming out stronger on the other side. Six months in and it feels like a lifetime of strength, resilience and growth packed into a short time.
If you’re in the thick of it right now, hear this — You are stronger than you think. Every feed, every pump, every moment you show up counts! Stand Tall mama. You’ve got this. You are never alone. We rise together!
Swati
You’re doing something truly good and meaningful here. And you’re making the time for it on top of everything else you’re holding? Wild! In the moments when you’re run down, exhausted, and questioning if you’re doing enough — try to hold onto the memory of doing this donation. Remind yourself that your effort and care matters. Remind yourself that you’re someone that goes above and beyond. And you keep showing up. That’s a lot to be proud of.
♡ JT
Thank you for your incredible generosity & selflessness. You are nourishing babies & families far beyond your own. Your compassion, time, & love are making a life-changing difference. Every ounce truly matters! ♡
Lisa M.
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night so exhausted, I just don't want to get up. My breasts are so full, my arms wet from milk puddles on either side of me. But I think of what a small sacrifice my 30 min pump is compared to the stress others are feeling late at night. Somewhere, there is another mother/parent hoping I get up to share my gift with their child. So I get up, ready to sit in those quiet minutes, reminding myself that it means the world to someone else… I know you're tired, and you're doing great. ♡
Melissa, Foster City
Embrace + Enjoy every moment of nursing & breastfeeding. It will go by quickly & soon enough your body will be yours again. Listen to your mind, body, & heart & your baby, & do what is best for you + them. ♡
Thank You for being the "village" for families who need it the most. I know the sacrifice that goes into every bag you freeze. It's an honor to share this journey with you! You are doing life-changing work one ounce at a time!
♡ You're a hero! You're doing such an important thing! ♡
Ruby
You are doing so much. We all are. Try to hold onto the reality that you’re not alone in this, even in the moments it may feel like it. Each of us carry our own unique experiences and challenges. We’re each finding our own way forward. But your effort and care is something we all can quietly acknowledge and share.
Take heart, take care of yourself, and take pride in each day and moment (or, really, pumping session) that you keep showing up for. It all matters. And it is all more than enough. ♡
Jody
Being a mother of 4 has it's challenges but it will always be the greatest blessing I have ever received. Being an over-supplier has been so rewarding knowing I can successfully feed my children and so many others. I have donated almost 40,000 ounces from having my baby in March and it has been the happiest, stressful, chaotic time I have ever experienced. I say keep going to all the mothers out there that feel discouraged every day is a new accomplishment and even pumping one ounce is a step in the right direction. We are all mothers no matter the amount of children we will always be the warriors we set out to be.
Haley L.
My first daughter was a difficult pumping journey but we made it through with a lot of hard work, hydration, tears and help from others. Keep your head up but let out the tears when you need to. I am grateful that this time around for my son, I am able to produce enough for him as well as to help other babies in need. Remember to look into those sweet baby eyes as often as you can because its so true that “the days are long and hard but the years are fast” so make as many memories as you can (& take the good w/ the bad). Good luck!
Nicole H.
I’m writing this during my 3am pump. Today is my Liam’s 2nd month birthday and I’m exhausted. He is in the midst of cluster feeding and is hungry every 2 hrs. My toddler Sophia is in her terrible two era and her favorite word is “no”. I’ve never been more tired in my life…
I’ve also never been so happy. I’m bless with two happy and healthy children after years of infertility and I pump now and donate as a debt of gratitude to the universe for making my dreams come true. If you are reading this, know you are not alone. You are a fantastic mama and your baby is lucky to have you.
♡ Cheers from Las Vegas
From one mom to another, Thank you for sharing the LOVE!
Every ounce matters!
May God bless you & your family Thank you for your kindness
My daughter was born a few weeks early and breastfeeding was a huge challenge for the first several weeks of her life. During those days of endless pumping & supplementing I never thought I would not only successfully nurse, but end up producing enough to donate! I hope my story encourages moms just starting out not to give up, and to know that you are doing great! Hang in there!

Hi ♡
You are a warrior! So many times I wanted to call it quits, and here I am, 16 months later writing to you to tell you! you got this mama ♡ I never thought I would breastfeed so it crazy to me I made it this far. I know it gets lonely and most days are hard but remember you aren't alone. Look down mama. Your baby is right there with you ♡ We are all with you. You're amazing. Truly you amaze me!
Love,
Michelle
Breastfeeding to me is such an amazing and also challenging experience, although we as women are expected to do the most and provide for our children sometimes our bodies doesn't work out that way. When I experienced breastfeeding for the first time it was very scary, I was 19 and she was my very first baby. Unlike my other children my first daughter had to be the one that made everything so much harder in the best way. I produced 20 ounces every 3 hours so I started saving and it became a routine until she turned 10 months and I decided to stop pumping and have another baby. It wasn't until I had my 3rd baby that I realized I could continue breastfeeding and just donate the excess to the Mothers Milk Bank. My first time around I donated approximately 34,000 ounces and with this time I'm at 40,000 ounces and counting. I'm extremely happy I get to spread the gift I have in breastfeeding to help other mothers in need because no matter what you're a great mom and never let anyone discourage you into thinking otherwise. If it's donating 100 ounces or 1 million ounces you will forever be making a difference to the littles that need it most. Thank you to all the other mothers that make this impact with me.
♡ Sincerely ♡
A Milk Warrior Haley L.
Dear moms,
You're doing great! So glad to be part of this incredible community!
♡ Fellow mom of Z
When I’m pumping alone in the dark at 3am, I think of all of the mamas out there, awake with me, and I feel such strong bond to all of you. Sending all the mamas much love! Grateful for each and every one of you! ♡

You are doing Amazing! late Nights, early Mornings and little to no naps in the middle. Your baby and others are getting stronger everyday because of you ♡

To all my hard working pumping mammas, give yourself grace every day. Some days are harder than others but know that it's all worth it & you make a Big Difference in tiny lives.
I am ending my 14 month breastfeeding/pumping journey & there's so many mixed emotions. God Bless you all.

Just a reminder: Do not quit on a bad day! Your worth is not measured in ounces or minutes. You are doing a beautiful job, and I’m proud of you! ♡
Tasheena B.
You are incredible.
Your body grew a little human for months. You delivered that baby earthside. You cared, loved, and nourished that baby, and now you’re giving parts of yourself to nourish other babies.
Whatever or however your journey to motherhood has been, or whether your baby is with us or in our hearts, your selflessness & contribution will not go unnoticed.
From one mama to another, thank you for sharing your love.
♡ Sedina S.
Dearest Mama!
Though pumping isn’t the most fun, just remember the amazing gift you are passing along to a mama and baby in need. Hoping you are doing well during this postpartum season. You got this!!!

You are doing great! Sometimes all the hours pumping feels like a thankless job, but we're all in this together, and as the mom to a premie who needed donor milk for the first week, I promise you it is appreciated.
Best,
Elena
As a mom who struggled to breastfeed with her first baby, I am so grateful for this experience. The babies may not be able to express it, but the work you put in for your baby and others is recognized. Keep up the good work mamas!

Hello! Writing to you 15 months into my breastfeeding journey. From tongue tie release, nipple shield use for 6 months, and middle of the night pumping + oversupply for 4 months - it has been hard! Things finally feel easier now that my toddler is both able to nurse and interested in nursing on demand. It took a long time to get here! Sending you so much strength + love as you care for yourself, your family, and (w/ your donation) countless babies in need. You got this.
Alexandra
Hi Mama!
Thank you for donating your liquid gold. With my first child, we had so much milk left over that I chose to donate simply for the freezer space back. When I had my second child, I had some complications with my pregnancy and had to deliver at 34 weeks instead of delivering at term. My supply came slowly and I was fortunate that my hospital provided donor milk from Mothers’ Milk Bank. While I recovered and waited for my own milk to kickstart, donor milk is what kept my baby fed.
So thank you! You kind soul. Keep on pumpin’!
My breastfeeding journey was very difficult at the very beginning, but with time things got easier. When my daughter was 3 months I was able to feed my daughter with a nipple shield and pump milk. Now my daughter is 20 months. All this time I fed her with a nipple shield with no problems and was able to collect enough milk to donate. I am so happy I decided to not give up when things got hard because like everyone said, “It will get easier.”
♡ Isabel S.
Happy new year! Thank you for sharing your milk with the next generation and spending your time (including late nights) in this labor of love.

New mama from CA
Breastfeeding was not always easy and wonderful. Pumping was even worse. I can even say it’s my least favorite part of motherhood. But with support, we made it possible. What a wonderful blessing it was to be able to nurture my child with this body, and now to help another child in need. I am forever grateful for this opportunity.
Mary
To all milk donor mamas just starting motherhood, what you’re doing truly matters. In the middle of exhaustion and learning everything for the first time, you’re choosing to give even more of yourself. Your milk is nourishment, comfort, and hope for another baby and family.
★ Be gentle w/ yourself, motherhood isn’t about perfection it’s about love. And you’re already doing something amazing!

Hi next donor!
This is my last donation, and I am honored to be able to write this for the next donor. It has been an HONOR to be able to donate to all the babies in need of milk. May this message find the next momma + donor well. ♡

When my second pregnancy ended at 15 weeks, my husband and I simply wished for the third one to reach at least 22 weeks and survive with the help of NICU care.
Our double-rainbow baby made it through full term, but I keep imagining how life would've been like if we made trips to the NICU.
All our breastmilk that we pump is saving those tiny lives, and we are doing AMAZING!
Love,
Chiaki
Motherhood is exhausting but so rewarding at the same time. There may be days where things are not going the way that you hoped it would. But always know that you are doing a wonderful + amazing job raising your little one! You got this mama ♡!
Hello from San Diego. I am so honored to be included in this special group of people who care so deeply about helping families and babies. I feel blessed to have a milk supply that allows me to share and provide for others. I am so deeply grateful for all the people at Mothers Milk Bank who make all of this possible. It truly takes a village to give all children the best possible start in life to grow and thrive. I am humbled to be a part of such an important mission.
With gratitude,
Jasmine S.
Beautiful momma ♡ Milk Warrior,
I hope you know how special of a gift you are giving to babies who need it! Whether you are donating excess milk leftover from your child, or donating in honor of your angel, like me, your gift and selflessness is priceless ♡ (12-30-25 ♡ 01-04-26)
Love,

Whatever your breastfeeding journey is/was, just know you’re doing a great job and your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
You’re amazing ♡

Hello! What a special gift this is, the opportunity for us moms to support each other on (what is probably) the most special journey of our lives. I feel blessed and honored to know you, even if our kinship only exists through this notebook. I want to tell you that you matter — everything about you matters! You are beautiful and selfless, and you’re doing such important work; feels like no one in the world will ever understand that as much as a fellow mama. Keep doing what you’re doing, you are so loved ♥
And if you happen to be a milk donor, like me, please let me tell you that you are a rockstar! Sharing the precious milk your body makes every day, every moment, it’s such a wonderful gift. I am up at 2am every night pumping, and I do it only to donate. I am so fortunate to have a baby who sleeps through the night, and that means all 8 ounces every day at 2am goes toward other families in need. I feel so incredibly honored to donate, and I am humbled every night as I sit there pumping, humbled as I think about the miraculous group of women, just like me, to whom I belong. Thank you all ♥
with so much love,
Jodie
Breastfeeding journey, I made it to 1 year and 4 weeks. I couldn't of done it without the tips and support from other moms. Every ounce matters! Donating and helping other mom's and babies is the biggest gift and Blessing.

To the brave mama holding this: My name is Jai, I gave birth to my daughter September 2025, since then I have been pumping and been blessed to be able to produce more than my baby needs. Today, I want to share that blessing to you and your baby. I wanted to send more than just milk today; I wanted to send you a reminder of your incredible strength. I know this journey hasn't been easy, and the path to feeding your little one may look different than you once imagined. But please know that the love and dedication you have for your baby are more powerful than any challenge you're facing. My daughter has been blessed with more than she needs, and it is the greatest honor of my life to share this "liquid gold" with your miracle as you feed your baby, I hope you feel the village behind you.
You are doing an amazing job and your baby is so lucky to have you as their mom and their home.
Keep going, Mama. You are enough, you are doing, doing really great and you are exactly what your baby needs...
With so much love and solidarity,
A fellow Mama. Jai
Hello, everyone! I am so proud of the work this community is able to accomplish – the world needs more good! My heart goes out to everyone receiving and donating. You're doing great!

Hey mama’s,
Breastfeeding is beautiful, but also hard! But even on hard days you are still showing up with so much love. You’re strong, you’re enough, and your love is more than your milk! Your baby is so lucky to have you. Your doing amazing, one feed at a time! ♡
Love ♡
Kiana
You are doing such an amazing thing. every ounce is valued and given to babies in need, remember your impact ♡
Your breastmilk isn’t just food. It’s proof of love, motherhood, bravery, and a reminder of how amazing your body is. ♡
We did it! We worked through a lot with food allergies. Eliminating food from my diet to eating only chicken and rice for about one month to gradually adding food back — it’s been a memorable experience. And I’d do it all again. Truly grateful I’ve been able to nurse my baby with a cow’s milk protein allergy and also been able to help other families too so that no milk was wasted. I couldn’t have done it without learning other’s experience with what they went through in similar situations. So remember, you’re not alone. You got this.
Pumping is a labor of love, + you have given so much of it to those who need it most ♡
“Forever Nights”
It feels like forever, when it’s 3am The room is dark, your eyes are heavy And it’s just you and them. It feels like forever, the patting on the back. Your arm is weak, your shoulder damp, Waiting on a burp with every gentle smack. It feels like forever, as you try to lay them down They fuss and squirm and gurgle Then their face displays a frown. It feels like forever, as you scoop them in your arms The song and dance continues The fussing finally calms. It feels like forever, their weight upon your chest You wrap your arms around them Now you both can simply rest. It feels like forever, but forever isn’t long Your baby’s not a baby. The forever nights are gone.

You’ve got this Mama. You are so strong. You are so loved. You matter. ♡

Dear Mama,
We are doing some really hard stuff. Remember how magical it is that we can do this, and how extra magical it is to help other babies and families! ♡
We got this!!!
Amanda
Your donation is truly the most selfless act. You are helping so many little babies get an amazing start to life. Pumping is so challenging but you continue to show up each and every day to do it. Keep it up and never forget how strong you are.
Whether you are donating or receiving breastmilk, you are an AMAZING mom! We do so much for our babies and feeding is just one of those things. However you’re making that happen, whatever that journey looks like for you and your little one(s), your baby loves you just the same. Remember to be kind to yourself and know you are your baby’s WHOLE WORLD ♡ ♡ ♡
Erin
To all the amazing mommas out there donating, we see you. We are the difference to families in need. It's hard work. Late night pumps, sore nipples, struggling to juggle our babies while pumping, it is not for everyone. We are all in the same boat, but it is a blessed boat to be able to help others. Stay strong and pump on!

When my son was born early one of my fears was that I would not produce enough milk for him. Luckily that was not the case. However, I took comfort in knowing donor milk would be there for him if I could not. Now I have more than he needs and I am happy to help another family.
Krystle S.
What you are doing matters more than you’ll ever see. Late nights, some days, extra effort - your choice to give is generosity in its purest form. Be proud of it. ♡
Erin + Baby Michael
What an amazing gift you are giving! My baby received donor milk in the hospital, and it provided so much comfort and peace of mind for those first few days while everything felt out of control. I feel very lucky to be able to pay it forward so more babies can benefit like mine did. Pumping is mentally, physically, + emotionally draining + you are a ROCKSTAR for letting other babies benefit from your efforts!!! ♡
Dear donors,
Thank you for making the selfless decision to contribute to the precious donation of breast milk. I am honored to be a part of such a life saving measure. Keep on being awesome and be sure to hydrate! ♡

First, I thank God for an abundance of milk that can provide for my daughter, but also share with giving life to others. Some days/nights are especially exhausting, but every ounce represents your patience, love, and sacrifice for your baby and those benefited by the milk bank. This is a beautiful season that I will miss once it is gone. To the next milk warrior, you are strong, you are amazing, you are powerful, you are enough!
Thank you for your donation. Your kindness and selflessness mean more than words can express. You are a true blessing to so many families. ☺

Keep up the amazing work! Your best is enough especially on the days when it doesn’t feel like it. No one can do what you can & the world/your family/your community is a better place because you are in it! You are enough!

You are a quiet hero. What a blessing it is to have a giving heart and a body that is able to provide for your little one and many others. All the time and effort put in do not go unseen or unnoticed. Thank you!
I pray that God gives you the strength and mental fortitude to continue this breastfeeding and donation journey for as long as you are able; however long or short, it is enough ☺

Hello mamas!
I’d like to start out with a huge kudos to you all. the breastfeeding journey is hard and ever changing, but you’re doing it and you should be proud ♡
I hope the milk i donate helps some sweet little babies and takes some of the mental load off of the loving mommies.
Sending all of my love + strength in 2026

Dear Mama,
How lucky are we to have our amazing bodies that provide this gift? When you get tired remember “you get to do this!” not “you have to do this!!"

♡ Hello Mama! ♡
You are doing great! Keep it up! It may be hard but these babies are so lucky to have your milk to help them grow!
Amanda M.
When my baby boy was born, my milk had not come in yet. I didn’t have a drop to give him. My panic around it worsened when I was told he needed to stay in the NICU for a few days. He needed my milk, needed me, but there was nothing I could do. I relied on donor milk during his first few days of life. It was such a comfort, knowing someone’s milk was able to give him the nutrients he needed while I waited patiently for my own. Two weeks later, I had a steady supply coming in, and now I produce so much my freezer is overflowing!
It is such an honor to give back what I took and more. Donor milk made a huge difference to me and my baby. Those days when I didn’t know if I’d have milk to give, or even if my baby would be okay, were some of the most stressful moments of my life. Donor milk was an invaluable comfort, and I thank that person, whoever they are, for sharing their precious gift. I will continue to donate any amount I can so that my milk can do the same for another baby and their mother.
For all the other donors who read this… you are someone’s hero. You are someone’s lifesaver. Your time and effort means more than you know.
Thank you ♡
Melissa L.
My body thought I should have had at least twins, maybe even triplets. As far as my boobs knew, it was raining babies & I needed to be prepared!!
By the time Syd was 3 weeks old! I had an excess of 100 oz of milk that I needed to pump to relieve my aching boobs. My freezer was fast running out of space & I couldn’t bear to throw it out. I mean, I made that milk! I’m pretty proud of it.
Then I learned I could donate my milk & help other moms & their precious babies! It sounded like a win-win to me. Maybe my story sounds like your story, or maybe you have your own reasons for donating, but whatever the reasons, go you! (And go me!) for being a milk warrior!
Karen D.V.
Dear Mama,
Congratulations on your bundle of joy. May your breastfeeding journey be prosperous! Nourishing your baby is a special journey. Remember it's an honor to breastfeed your baby during the hard times and 2 am wake ups.
Wishing you the best from one breastfeeding mama to another!

Hi there, mama!
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to donate milk. As a new mom, it has been challenging figuring out how to balance all the responsibilities we have on top of taking care of our little one. Hang in there! This season may seem long but our babies are growing up so fast. I remind myself every day to cherish this time despite how sleep deprived I am. Wishing you the best of luck as you navigate parenthood.
In solidarity from one mama to another ♡

Dear Mama,
This milk was pumped with love during long days and late nights. I hope it helps nourish your little one and gives you even a little extra peace. We are all doing our best – and that is enough.
Sending care, strength, and sisterhood your way.♡

You are amazing! ♡ As a NICU nurse, I see firsthand how helpful your donation is.

Hello Mamas!
What an honor it is to be writing in this journal since it means we are making a donation! This will likely be one of my last donations, as my son is just 2 weeks away from turning one and my breastfeeding journey will be coming to an end. It has been quite the year adjusting to my new life—nothing could have prepared me for all that motherhood brings. I’ve never felt so exhausted, yet so deeply enamored by the little life I have created.
I was grateful to have an oversupply of milk after a difficult pregnancy and thrilled that I was able to donate and help other babies. This year has been so demanding with the pumping schedule (and just about everything else in motherhood) but I’m happy knowing my milk has helped families in need and perhaps made their new lives a little easier.
Keep it up, Mamas!
Elyse L.
Hi there!
Your sacrifice is the answer a family may be looking for while their baby is in need. Parents already carry such a heavy mental load, and your milk is one less burden they have to bear ♡ Remember you matter xoxo

Dear Mama,
Breastfeeding is MORE than just feeding your baby. It’s proof of love, dedication, determination & patience. Never underestimate how much of an impact it has not only on your baby, but HUNDREDS of others in need through donation. Your sacrifice is never unnoticed. Keep pumping along, mama ♡
Amy & baby Zion
If your baby is smiling, you’re doing it right! Keep up the good work mama!

I wanted to let you know that I am coming to an end in my pumping journey and will not be making any further donations. In my departure, I did want to take a moment to share with you the story of my daughter, Charlotte.
Charlotte was born unexpectedly, 4 months early, in September of last year. She weighed 1.5 lbs at birth and, as you can imagine, could not take on a real amount of breast milk for quite a while. My milk supply came in beautifully, and I was producing much more than she was possibly going to be able to eat. I quickly began filling freezers. One inside my house, one in my garage and two large commercial freezers in our NICU. It got to be so much that I was finally introduced to your organization. In what felt like a very helpless situation for my daughter, the one thing I could do and do really well was pump. I was grateful to be able to feed her and so grateful to be able to feed others. Charlotte lived in the NICU for 143 days. Just before discharge, she was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. I continued to pump as we moved through different hospitals and different hotels in other areas while we got the best treatment from my daughter. She received 6 rounds of chemo from January of this year to June, then got her life-saving liver transplant in July. She has been and still is immunocompromised, and my milk is one of the best things for her. She is now cancer-free and is 15 months old, 11 months adjusted. We are eternally grateful.
After 15 months of pumping, my milk supply is dwindling. I'll use the rest of my freezer stash for her until we run out.
I thank you for making milk donation so easy. I carried a lot of "milk stress" until I found you.

This little superhero, Josiah Akheen Gonzales, is sharing his mama's amazing "liquid gold" with tiny warriors in the NICU!
Irene is an incredible donor who has already donated three rounds of 800-900 oz of breast milk thanks to Mothers' Milk Bank California!
Her dedication and generosity are truly inspiring. Every ounce helps nourish fragile babies and give them the best chance to thrive.
Are you a breastfeeding mama with extra milk? Consider joining Irene in making a difference! Visit mothersmilk.org to learn more about donating.

Cherish crushed her resolution to give back to her community in the most precious way possible - by donating 2,000 ounces of life-saving breast milk to Mothers' Milk Bank California!
"Fun fact: Micro preemies like Karsyn can't digest formula and need breast milk," Cherish shares. "If mothers can't produce it, that's where donor milk comes in."
Karsyn, a tiny hero who defied the odds, thrived thanks to the generosity of moms like Cherish, who chose to share their liquid gold. ✨
Cherish's story is a powerful reminder that even the smallest gestures can make a world of difference. Let's celebrate her dedication and commitment to helping vulnerable babies reach their full potential!

I am honored and thrilled that I am able to be a milk donor for Mothers' Milk Bank California. I chose to donate breast milk because my son Landon was born prematurely due to preeclampsia. Landon was in the NICU for a month. When I found out I was pregnant, I thought I was going to be able to breastfeed right away, but because he was born early, I had to wait until he was ready to breastfeed. So I started pumping, and I quickly became an overproducer. While he was in the NICU I felt very fortunate that I could produce the amount of breast milk I did for my little preemie fighter, but I also witnessed other preemie moms struggling to provide breast milk to their preemie babies. The nurses taking care of Landon even told me that the amount of milk I was producing was amazing, considering having a premature baby can affect a mother's milk supply. That is when I discovered Mothers' Milk Bank California and how to become a donor. I wanted to be able to share the gift of my liquid to other NICU babies and moms in need. Since I am a nurse myself, I understand how important breast milk is for preemie babies. Thank you, Mothers' Milk Bank California, for allowing me to become a donor and sharing my milk's blessing with other NICU babies and their families. It has been a privilege.
A. Carlsen
As a first time mom, I have been very fortunate to be able to breastfeed. The thought of helping NICU babies who may not have had access to the nutrients in breast milk quickly made me happy to donate. I thought the process would be time consuming, when I quickly learned the entire program was a breeze. You're walked through step by step and it was super easy. I felt that donating to the tiniest of humans in need was a calling that I was ready and chosen to do
T. Duong
Having a preemie baby for the second time, I am constantly reminded by nurses and doctors that the best I could do to help my little Mia while she is in the NICU is to pump ? and be there for some kangaroo cuddles. With my first preemie, I knew about donor milk because my milk took a while to come in. My baby was born at 28 weeks, and for his first month in the NICU, we depended on donor milk. I was so thankful I promised I would give back if I ever had the opportunity to do the same. And ta-dah 5 years later, my little Mia was born; this time, I was able to build a stash from the beginning as she had to be sedated due to surgery got . So, for two weeks, she wasn't getting any milk, and I was able to pump around the clock; my body overunderstood the assignment and gave me an overproduction. The lactation consultant in the NICU noticed my overproduction and talked to me about helping other babies in the same situation as my baby. Right away, I said, "Of course! I would love to give back!" So I got in contact with MMB, and now here we are, 2500+oz in donations and more to come.
I want to also thank you all for working hard to give to other babies because I was once on the other side receiving milk for my other baby, and it was all thanks to milk banks like yours.
