By donating your lifesaving breast milk, you provide essential nutrition for fragile and premature infants. For babies whose mothers cannot produce enough or are unable to breastfeed, donor milk is a meaningful option that supports healthy growth and gives every baby the best possible start in life. Together, we can make a profound difference.
At Mothers’ Milk Bank California, there are no costs for you as a donor. We cover everything — from your health screening to storage and shipping. Our intake process ensures every milk donor meets safety standards so your gift can nourish premature, critically ill, or at-risk babies.
If you’ve collected 100 ounces or more of frozen milk, follow the next steps to begin your donation:
Step 1. Get started by completing this quick 2-minute form
This first step takes just 2 minutes. Our team will contact you within one business day.
Step 2. Schedule a short phone screening call with our team
During this call, we’ll review your health and lifestyle history to make sure milk donation is safe for you and the babies who will receive your milk. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions or share any concerns. (Language Line support is available.)
Step 3. Submit your completed donor packet and blood test (provided at no cost)
After your screening call, you’ll receive forms to complete your medical history questionnaire and sign the necessary consents. Our team will help schedule and coordinate your blood work — with all costs covered by Mothers’ Milk Bank California. This important step ensures your milk meets safety standards so it can safely nourish the babies who need it most.
Step 4. Start donating milk to help babies in need 💙
Your donations will be carefully handled, pasteurized, and distributed to hospitals and families caring for vulnerable babies.
